DRV8305-Q1: Safety document and TI classification?

Part Number: DRV8305-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV3245E-Q1, DRV3245Q-Q1

Team,

We used to list the DRV8305-Q1 as SafeTI device in the older SafeTI portal.

Now in the new Safety portal (that uses the new terminology/categorization) the BLDC drivers listed are DRV8350F and DRV32xx:
https://www.ti.com/motor-drivers/brushless-dc-bldc-drivers/products.html#p3316=Functional%20Safety-Capable;Functional%20Safety%20Quality-Managed;Functional%20Safety-Compliant
But DRV8305-Q1 does not appear.

Any reasons why we do not list DRV8305-Q1 in the new Safety categorization list?

Thanks in advance!

A.

  • Hello,

DRV8305-Q1 does not include functional safety documentation and was not developed to meet functional safety systems requirements. DRV3245Q-Q1 and DRV3245E-Q1 are very similar in functionality and pin out and are Functional Safety Compliant (include all of the relevant safety documentation).

    Thanks,

    Matt
