DRV8912-Q1: Reverse polarity design

Hi experts,

When DRV8912-Q1 is used as high-side swtich and low-side switch, what's your recommended design for reverse polarity protection, add Diode or PMOS between battery and VM pin or add a GND network as below? Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. If the motor driver is configured as high-side switch or low-side switch, the reverse protection methods on this app note are also applicable, right?
