DRV8833: Does it output nFAULT in the case the output current reach its current chopping threshold?

Part Number: DRV8833

Hi team,

Does it output nFAULT in the case the output current reach its current chopping threshold?

Or does it operate just slow decay  for fixed blanking time 3.75 μs without nFAULT output?

Regards,
Ochi

  • Hi Yoshiki-san,

Current chopping will not be reported on nFAULT. The nFAULT will remain HIGH when the device enters current chopping. The nFAULT will only report UVLO, OCP, and TSD faults.

Is there a reason for wanting to report current chopping on nFAULT?
