DRV2624: Need LRA Driver to Support Dual Resonance Frequencies for Automotive

Hi Sirs,

Do we have an automotive grade of haptics driver to support LRA with dual resonance frequencies?

- Structure: Hybrid
- Vibration frequencies: 160Hz, 320Hz
- Vibration forces: 3G at 160Hz, 2.2G at 320Hz
- DC Resistance: 8ohm
- Drive voltage: 3.0V

Hi Wayne,

Auto-resonance tracking feature is not supporting dual resonance frequency actuators at this moment. The driver can still be used but it would be operating at a single frequency.

With single resonance frequency supporting. Will the DRV2624 detect the lower frequency (160Hz), higher frequency (320 Hz) or randomly (sometimes 160Hz, sometimes 320Hz) in this case?

HI Wayne,

This would depend on the initial settings. Notice that the initial guess is using DRIVE_TIME parameter, which should be close to half the period of the resonance frequency. https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/drv2624.pdf#page=23
