DRV10983-Q1: PWM mode speed regulation

Part Number: DRV10983-Q1

Hi

Pin SPEED can be adjusted for DC partial pressure. For example, when the partial pressure on the PIN is 1.5V and 2.7V, the SPEED is different.

However, in the PWM mode, you can not speed, either slow or full speed, PWM is 5V square wave,1KHz,

Please tell me how the speed regulation works in PWM mode.

Thanks!

  • Hi Neal,

Changing the speed in PWM Mode

You can set the speed command on the SPEED pin by adjusting the PWM input. (Configuring the SPEED pin for PWM mode by setting SpdCtrlMd = 1).

The frequency of the PWM input signal applied to the SPEED pin is defined as ƒPWM. This is the frequency the device can accept to control motor speed. It does not correspond to the PWM output frequency that is applied to the motor phase. The PWM output frequency can be configured to be either 25 kHz when the DoubleFreq bit is set to 0 or to 50 kHz when DoubleFreq bit is set to 1.

I also want to note that the max input voltage for the SPEED pin is 4V.

Let me know if this makes sense or if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
    Michael
