Hello,

Just bought the DRV8313EVM RevB board to start testing with a bldc project. I have installed the DRV8313EVM usb drivers and application. Directly after starting the app i get the following error. The error prompt every time board connected or not. I have been trying the application on a windows 10 and windows 7 laptop and tried comp ability mode windows xp.

Any suggestions? Please advise.

Hi Bas,

This EVM could have a missing solder bridge that could affect proper operation.

If the bridge is there or if you add it and the error is still present, can you provide any log files available when the error appears?

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your reply. I have board RevB with the small correction on the micro usb connector (pins connected).

The only error i get is like the picture in previous post. InternalInvoke etc.. This is every case.

Is there another option to create an errorlog?

Hi Bas,

I found some reference to a similar issue, but it was not resolved.

The questions asked were:
Do you have FTDI drivers installed on your system ?
If installed, check if it is visible with device manager when you connnect hardware which is powered on .
The error is because GUI tries to detect the Serial port connected with FTDI chip and if not detected, throws an error.
Another item to try is to set the GUI to run in XP Service Pack 3 compatibility mode.

Hi Rick,

Thanks again for your reply. I have been trying to run the GUI under xp sp 3 without succes. I also tryed reinstalling the drivers and so on. Till now wothout succes. The error keeps popping up and after 10 times or so it give a connection timeout. I would also think there is something wrong with the drivers:( It does show the right drivers installed in device manager.

I hope someone knows how to get the communication running.

Hi Bas,

We are still investigating this issue. It turns out that my laptop has a similar issue and my colleague's does not, so I hope it will be easier to debug. Will update you if we find something.

Hi Bas,

I am still struggling to determine the reason for the GUI problem. I have compared my laptop to my colleague's and updated programs to the same level as his. To date, we have not identified why one works and the other does not.

Will update again as we have more information. If you have another computer to use, please try it as it may work.

I have tried the program on 4 different computers without success. I really hope you can find something because the purchased board is useless at this moment:(

Hi Bas,

What language is your computer set to? We have had problems with some programs if the computer is not set to English.

Computer is set to Dutch. I will check how to set to English and give it a try.
