Hi Team,

Is there an EVM available for the DRV8871-Q1? Need one urgently if so.

If not, what do you recommend to use to showcase the device?

Hi Jared,

There is not a DRV8871-Q1 EVM available. You have two choices:

1) Use the DRV8871 EVM as is. The device is a very good indicator of the function of the DRV8871-Q1.
2) Acquire a DRV8871 EVM and change the device on the board.

Option 1 is preferred, as the normal assembly process typically yields consistent thermal performance.

Hi Rick,

Is the only difference between the DRV8871 and DRV8871-Q1 the thermal limits of the device? Or are there other things I need to be aware of that change between the two?

Hi Jared,

Thermals (both TSD shutdown temp and package) are slightly different.

Also the non-Q1 version has:
slightly higher UVLO
slightly lower sleep current
slightly less overcurrent deglitch time
