DRV10975: Can i use DRV10975 for A2212 BLDC motor

Hello

I have BLDC motor A2212 1000KV.I have same motor.I have same motor like this

I want drive it.Can ı use DVR10975 for this motor? I have 11.1V 3s 2800mAh Lipo.I want control motor speed,direction and get rpm info.Can i use DVR10975? Or do you recommed other product for my project.

I'm planning draw my own pcb for this job.

I m newbie for this.Please help

Hi,

Looking at this motor it appears that the motor requires a much higher current that DRV10975 can support.

You could look at a device like DRV8304, however, it will require external FETs and a MCU to provide the control signals for DRV8304.

If i use DRV8304 can i get RPM and change motor direction? I think i can controll motor speed using PWM from my STM32F1

DRV8304 would require you to monitor the phase current to determine when to commutate which would also give you an indication of the speed. There is a direction pin so that you could change directions. It would still require a minimum of 4 IOs to control the motor plus inputs for the current sensors to determine coummutation.
