Could you show us the error?

Also are you trying to download the GUI composer runtime?

Hi Adam,

The message indicates “There is an error downloading the file” and it's the GUI composer runtime.

The GUI runtime should download during the DRV8308 GUI installation process.

Just to let you know, the clock frequency control of the DRV8308 GUI has a bug currently that we are working to fix.

Hi Adam,

Is there a package we run the GUI without directly install on the PC? A standalone software or so?

The customer continues to see an issue while setting up when it comes to the GUI composer runtime, we are suspecting that this may be due to admin rights or etc... But this may take quite awhile to resolved with the IT.

Here is the workaround:

1) Download runtime from http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/non-esd/gui_composer/runtime/gcruntime-2.0.6-windows-installer.exe

The one from the link above will contain an .exe named “gcruntime-2.0.6-windows-installer.exe”.

2) Run the DRV GUI installer.

3) Choose appropriate application and runtime locations, but avoid spaces in the runtime path name.

4) When you see the following screen during installation, select the “Install from file” option, press the browse icon to the far left of this, and located the runtime installer named “gcruntime-2.0.6-windows-installer.exe”. Your screen should look similar to the screen capture below(except actual runtime installer version)

5) Press next and follow the instructions to complete the installation.
