DRV10983: DRV10983EVM GUI Settings

Part Number: DRV10983

Can you describe the function of these settings on the DRV10983 GUI?

Commutate Control Advance Mode

Control Coefficient Setting

Thanks, Matt

  • Commutate Control Advance Mode is the setting for how to determine lead angle or control advance time.

"Constant" mode or value 0 allows you to set a constant control advance time through the TCtrlAdv setting.

"Dependent" mode or value 1 changes the control advance time relative to the motor speed and VCC, since as speed goes up, the sensitivity to control advance time increases.

We would recommend only using the "Constant" mode.

For "Control Coefficient Setting", please see section "8.4.5.6 Control Coefficient" in the datasheet http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/drv10983.pdf . In nominal cases, we recommend using control coefficient setting of 1.

Let me know if you have any questions.
