DRV8825: V3P3 load

Hi team,

My customer inquiries about V3P3 capability as follows. Could you please let me know your answers?
1. Catasheet mentions that V3P3 capability is up o 1mA. Is this including internal consumption, or only limitation for external load?
2. If load current exceeds 1mA, what issue can be seen?

Hi Nobuhiko,

1. The datasheet specifies that the V3P3OUT load current limit is 1mA which is only affected by external loads

2. If the load current exceeds 1mA, there will be some power loss. The functional block diagram below (from the datasheet) can help explain that. As the output current increases past the 1mA limit, the power loss through the V3P3OUT block will increase which could damage the components inside the chip. The higher load current will also affect the performance of the motor drive. Furthermore, I cannot guaranteed that the chip will performed correctly if the output current goes beyond the specified 1mA.
