DRV8835EVM: Reduce Spike on DRV8835 output

Part Number: DRV8835EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8835

Hi There,

I'm using DRV8835 to drive bipolar stepper motor with full-step driving.

Apparently, there was spikes on rising and falling.

so my questions are

1. Does the negative voltage actually hurts DRV8835 at AOUT1/2 BOUT1/2 ?

2. Could I implement a RC snubber on AOUT1 and AOUT2 to suppress negative/positive spike? if so, how do I calculate the dissipation on Rsnub and choose a right Rsnub value, and what the maximum watt Rsnub should be?

My Motor current should be -0.18A ~ 0.18A, VM = 3.3V, Switch f = 1kHz.

Thanks for your support, looking forward to your response.

Paul
