DRV8889-Q1: What situation does SPI_ERROR indicate SPI protocol errors in?

Hello team,

this is Ochi. Could you tell me when SPI_ERROR shown in Table16 indicates SPI errors? Also, I would like to know if SPI_ERROR indicates SPI error or not in below situations.

a) When SCLK is absent even though nSCS is low, how long is it before SPI_ERROR indicates SPI error?

b) If wrong address (0x0a to 0x0f) comes when nSCS is low, does SPI_ERROR indicate SPI error?

Ochi,

a. SPI_ERROR indicates SPI error after nCSC goes high.

b. SPI_ERROR doesn't indicate wrong address (0x0a to 0x0f) error when nSCS is low.

I saw "Indicates SPI protocol errors, ... or SCLK is absent though nSCS is low" in Table16. I would like to know how long time it is before SPI protocol indicates errors, while SCLK is absent and nSCS is low.

SPI_ERROR indicates SPI error after nCSC goes high.

a. If nSCS keeps low and SCLK is absent, it doesn't flag "SPI_ERROR". The motor driver is waiting for SCLK signal.

b. If SCLK is absent and nSCS goes back to high, SPI_ERROR indicates SPI error.
