DRV8824: Speed and data sheet problems

Part Number: DRV8824

Dear all:

I am using DRV8824 and have the following three problems

1,In addition to the STEP foot can adjust the speed of the motor, whether there are other pins can be adjusted?

2,Set STEP [000], how many degrees to turn a STEP?

3,What to make of table 2 on data sheet page 14?

  • Hi Timsen,

1,In addition to the STEP foot can adjust the speed of the motor, whether there are other pins can be adjusted?

The MODE2, MODE1, MODE0 inputs adjust the number of steps required to move the motor one full step (X degrees/step as defined by the motor manufacturer).

2,Set STEP [000], how many degrees to turn a STEP?

One rising edge of step will move the motor X mechanical degrees (90 electrical degrees). X is defined by the motor manufacturer and is typically 1.8, 7.5 or 15 degrees. To move one mechanical revolution, issue 360/X STEP pulses.

3,What to make of table 2 on data sheet page 14?

Table 2 describes the electrical degrees of the sine and cosine used to move the motor. Each full step is 90 electrical degrees. The electrical degrees can then be changed into smaller angles using MODE2, MODE1, MODE0.
