DRV8305: Question for DRV8305

Hi Team,

The customer is experiencing below issue and needs your help.

When the motor load increases (the maximum motor current is 15A), the DRV8305 is easily broken (AVDD_UVLO is set to 1). Is there any solution or other DRV recommendations?

Hi Annie,

When you say broken, do you mean the device is damaged or the device is just triggering a fault? Can you measure the PVDD and AVDD to see what is causing the UVLO? Just from your description so far I suspect that the PVDD is very noisy at large motor currents causing these issues. This might be solved by larger caps on PVDD.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your reply，I think the device is just triggering a fault. What‘s more, when CLR_FLTS bit is set to 1, the fault can not be cleared from the SPI status register. Can you help me to solve this problem？

Hi Annie,

Can you measure the voltage on AVDD? is de-powering the device and re-powering the device the only way that you have found to clear the fault?\

AVDD=0V，and AVDD shorted with GND.

What do you mean by "AVDD shorted with GND?"? DO you mean this is the only way to clear the fault?
