DRV8303: gate drive output burn

Part Number: DRV8303

Hello

I've doubled the motor phase current of my FOC brushless motor controler, now after some time the drv8303 gate drive output burn, how is it possible?

the 6 mosfet are BSC076N06NS3GATMA1, there is a 10Ohm resistor between MOSFET gate and DRV8303 gate drive outputs.

  • Dominique,

Thanks for posting on the MD forum!

Can you tell me your phase current before and after the change?

Have you checked the gate to source voltage of all the FETs when the board is switching during high current or load?

    Please provide plots of GLX/GHX/SLX/SHX.

I suspect you may be violating the ABS max specs of the SHX/GHX/GLX/SLX nodes when switching higher phase current which is then damaging the driver. We may have to adjust your gate resistance.

    Regards,
