DRV8904-Q1: Daisy Chain with DRV89xx

Part Number: DRV8904-Q1

Hello Team,

following question to clarify:

- can all derivates of DRV89xx (8912, 8904, 8910, 8908,...) combined in a daisy chain? According datasheet this should possible.

- how can fault outputs (nFault) combined to get one failure output? I.e. resistors for or-ing or is it open-drain?

Many Thanks and Best Regards

Josef

  • Josef,

    All 8912, 8904, 8910, 8908,... can support a daisy chain.

"For a write command, the existing data in the register being written to is shifted out on the SDO pin following the 8-bit command data."

If DRV8912 and DRV8904 are combined on the same board, I would put the device having more register in the first to connect SDI.

Yes. The fault outputs (nFault) can be connected together to share the same pull-up resistor since it is an open-drain output.
