DRV8885: Current waveform at stall condition

Hi Expert,

Customer is considering the reason of stall situation.

They found the current drop when the another phase is switched negative current to positive current with stall situation.

Could you please let me know the reason of this current drop?

Is it from the Back-EMF? Could you please explain about the detail of the electrical reason?

MuKuno-san,

At that moment, the high side FET should be fully turned on. When another winding current is driven up, the input voltage drop may make the current drop.

Please check the input voltage drop waveform. Also, do they put the output capacitor on the output? How many capacitance do they put at input?
