DRV8885: Change Micro stepping mode while stepping

Hi Expert,

I want to confirm about the following datasheet description.

Note that if the step mode is changed from full, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, or 1/16 to full, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, or 1/16 while stepping,
the indexer will advance to the next valid state for the new MODE setting at the rising edge of STEP.

If customer will change from Full step to 1/2 step while stepping, which is correct?

 

Blue : the indexer will advance with new mode(1/2 step) by next step signal

Green : the step mode will change to new mode  by next step signal

    Hi Mukuno-san,

    The change to half step depends on if the ustep change meets the setup time with respect to the rising edge of the STEP input.

    If at STEP 1 and setup is met when issuing the STEP to advance, the blue path is taken.

    If at STEP 1 and setup is not met when issuing the STEP to advance, the green path is taken.
