DRV8711: DRV8711 V5 external

Hi,

For a board 4x DRV8711 will be used with Vm=24V.

To save power is it allowed to supply DRV8711 V5 (pin6) from an external 5V source? Will this disable the internal 5V regulator?

I don't think an external 5V supply would disable the internal 5V regulator.

So connecting V5 externally to reduce dissipation isn't allowed?

Koen Ven,

I won't use an external power supply to support V5 even it may work in some cases. But, I am more worry about the noise and some abnormal cases.
