DRV8886: What is DRV8886's behavior when the stepper hit a hard stop?

Part Number: DRV8886

Hi,

I am using the DRV8886 to drive a stepper motor. The stepper motor drives a gear-train and move a acme screw. I would like to know the DRV8886's behavior when the stepper hit a hard stop. Would the DRV8886 announce a fault? According to the datasheet, the over current fault is 3A. I am planning to set full scale current for the DRV8886 to be 0.5A. So, if DRV8886 announce a fault, what fault would it be. Or, the stepper will consume all the remaining steps (not moving the acme screw) and not announce a fault?

thanks in advance for your help,

C. Chiang
