DRV10983: Current Limit

Part Number: DRV10983

Hi team,

What's the difference between Acceleration current limit and Start-Up Current Setting? They all affects the start up process of motor but the register are different.

Thanks a lot!

Nison

  • Hi Naizeng,

Yes, both registers are different. Start-up current is the open loop current that is set to start the motor reliably and accelerate to the handoff threshold. When startup current is set to 0.4A, the open loop phase current will be 0.4A. Acceleration current limit as the name suggests, limits the voltage applied to the motor to prevent the current from exceeding the programmed threshold. If the acceleration current limit is set to 1.2A and the phase current exceeds 1.2A, then the acceleration current limiter reduces the applied voltage to limit the phase current to 1.2A.

    Regards,

    Vishnu.
