DRV2625: Questions in DRV2625

Part Number: DRV2625

Hi TI,

We use the vibrator which the rated voltage is 1.8V,here have some questions in DRV2625:

1.What the RATED_VOLTAGE_CLAMP is?Does it need to set this register in our case? I've referred to the SPEC but still confuse with that.

2.In configuration tool mentions about the "Voverdrive_peak>=Vrate_rms* √2",I would like to know what will happen if "Voverdrive_peak=<Vrate_rms* √2"?

3.How to know a waveform's Vrms? in other word, should we use cursor to measure the specific period or for the whole waveform?

Also how could we know the Vratevoltage and Voverdrive like below 2 waveforms?

Thank you!

  • Hey Scott,

The rated voltage sets the Vrms value of the middle of the waveform, after overdrive is finished, so in your first screenshot it would correspond to the Vrms of the middle portion of the waveform after it levels off but before it starts to auto-brake.

If V_overdrive is less than Vrate_rms* √2 than the device would clamp the voltage and it would not be able to reach that RMS value

For calculating the vrms of the above waveforms you would need to look at the middle portion of the waveform after overdrive is finsihed and has leveled off, look at the peak of that portion of the waveform and divide it by √2 to get what Vrms which would correspond to your set rated voltage.

The V overdrive cannot always be determined by looking at the waveform but it has to be more or equivalent to the highest peak in the overall waveform
