DRV8873: Rsense resitor calaculation

Part Number: DRV8873
  1. To calculate the Rsense Resistor for the Iprop you have the  formula:

    • This is based  on a 5V tolerant Analog Input so if  my analog inputs are ony 1,8V I have to modify the formula to   Rsense = k* 1,8V/Io .  Do you agree ??

  • Hi ajayt,

Thank you for posting to the motor driver forum.

Yes. you can re-scale the Rsense formula to have a maximum voltage of 1.8V. However, you should never re-scale to a voltage higher than 5V since it can cause potential damage to the device.
