DRV8702-Q1: DRV8701EVM_GUIv1.0 not working

Dear all,

I recently bought a DRV8702-Q1 EVM module but for some reason I can't start the related GUI.

I downloaded the software (slvc615) from TI website and used the driver tool (CDM v2.10.00 WHQL Certified) provided with it.

When i double click on the DRV8701EVM_GUIv1.0.exe nothing happens.

On the DRV8702-Q1 EVM User’s Guide is mentioned a 'Setup_DRV8702-Q1_DRV8702Q1EVM.exe', but I can't find it anywhere online.

Any clues ?

Hi Matisse,

I will take a look on my system and report back. Can you clarify what operating system and version you are running?

Regarding your question about the filename, I believe the user guide is omitting the version number at the end of the file. The GUI setup filename in the .zip file is "Setup_DRV8702Q1EVM-1.0.0_EVM.exe"

There is no GUI Setup .exe provided on the DRV8702-Q1EVM Software (Rev. A) zip file, the only executable inside are CDM v2.10.00 WHQL Certified.exe and DRV8701EVM_GUIv1.0.exe .

I am running on windows 7 64 bits.

It looks like there might be some confusion - if you have the DRV8702Q1-EVM, you will want the DRV8702Q1-EVM GUI, found here: https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slvc672 (link is from the DRV8702Q1-EVM product page).

The GUI programs will read the EVM board ID, and in this case, the DRV8701 GUI cannot be used with the DRV8702Q1. I should have caught that sooner - slvc615 will not work with the DRV8702Q1-EVM.
