DRV8353: some questions about Vglx .

Why does GLA have periodic undershoots and does it have anything to do with IoutA? Will it affect the driver chip? What should be done if it can be avoided? This picture is from the drv8353 data sheet.

Hey Song,

It's difficult to tell the cause of the periodic undershoots specifically for this image. However generally you can get some undershooting if IDRIVE is set too high. The IDRIVE parameter is part of our Smart Gate Drivers and allows you to easily control the MOSFET slew rate. To avoid excessive undershooting you would have to configure your IDRIVE setting appropriately.

If we look at the Absolute Maximum Ratings in the datasheet, you can see GLx is rated for up to -1V continuous and -5V transient for 200ns. Exceeding either of these ratings could cause unexpected issues so we recommend adjusting IDRIVE to remain within these boundaries.
