Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8305EVM
Hi Team,Posting on behalf of our customer. Can they use two DRV8305 booster packs (BOOSTXL-DRV8305EVM) in parallel to drive a high current motor? The EVM can deliver up to 20A but they need to drive a 35A motor. If this is applicable what are the critical parameters/conditions that needs to be considered?Kind Regards,Jejomar
I would recommend against this, as the EVM is not intended to operate as a standalone solution for a system like this. My advice would be to design a board with the DRV8305, using reference designs and app notes as a starting point. A single DRV8305 has a max operating voltage rating of 45V, which is more than enough for this application. While we don't have any reference designs available for high-current applications using the DRV8305, there are some from other part families that would assist in this design. DRV832x, and DRV835x would be the best bet to look at for reference designs. I've supplied a link to the board layout best practices app note, and a reference design using the DRV8320.
