DRV8839: Driving DC Motor with DRV8839 causes bluetooth connection lose

Part Number: DRV8839

Hi,

I am trying to control a dc motor with bluetooth but every time after the engine's turning, i lose the bluetooth connection. I tried to add ferrite beads serial to OUT1, OUT2 and VM_6V but it did not work. What might be cause the problem ? I am not using PWM.

  • Hi user4872449,

Have you asked the manufacturer of the NRF52832 Module to review the layout?

According to the datasheet, "The pad must be connected to a solid ground plane".

What happens when you run the board without a motor connected?
    Do you lose bluetooth connection?

Have you examined the power pins (VM_6V and VDD_3V3) using a scope when the bluetooth is lost?

  • That nrf52 is a module. not oem. so the IC nrf52 is on solid ground plane. without motor connected there is no problem. i dont have osilescope so i just used multimeter and could not see any thing strange. I am sure nrf52 is not resetting because i am debugging.

  • Hi user4872449,

In the MDBT42Q – 512KV2 module datasheet, there is a statement:

Welcome to send us your layout in PDF for review at ...

Thank you for confirming there is no problem without the motor.

A scope is really needed to debug. Please try to access and provide scope captures.
