Hello,

I'm seeking help with selecting components for this custom PCB. The motor driver must be able to control at most 4 motors individually through magnetic encoders (currently it's not being controlled individually, instead they are in pairs). The microcontroller for the prototype is an Arduino; we are looking for a replacement.

Marcos,

If you want to control at most 4 motors individually, I would think you may need 4 H-bridges to control 4 motors and give bi-direction current control.

Do you need the current regulation? If not, please check DRV8908-Q1.

I was wondering if you could recommend PCB components to replace this prototype setup, which is currently using an Arduino, and make it compatible with the suggested DRV8908-Q1.

Sorry, I cannot use DRV8908-Q1 or a motor drive device to replace Arduino Nano.

Hello,

What I meant was if there is a component that could replace the arduino? Is there a microcontroller that I could use instead of the arduino?

I would then connect this microcontroller with the DRV8908-Q1 driver.

Marcos,

The MCU support team doesn't check the motor driver forum. DRV8908-Q1EVM uses a MSP430 device as a microcontroller. You can get the detail hardware and firmware code design from the DRV8908-Q1EVM folder.

If you want to get a directly support from MCU team. Please start a new thread on C2000 or MSP430 forum and change title to have Arduino, instead of DRV8908-Q1.
