Find Ultrasound Transmit Solution Evaluation Board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC1000, PGA460

TX-SDK-V1 and TX-SDK-V2 were discontinued by the manufacturer.

Is there any alternative?

I want to develop Ultrasound single/Multiple element pulser, that I need Ultrasound Transmit Pulser, Ultrasound Transmit/Received switch and Ultrasound Receive Analog Front End.

Might you please to Help me, Thanks.

  • Hi user4672467,

Is your application air-coupled or liquid-coupled? What kind of detection range do you need? We have two recommended devices for ultrasonic sensing, the TDC1000 and the PGA460. Both devices can generate bursts for the transducer and act as an analog front end for received echoes. The TDC1000 operates at higher frequencies and is suited to liquid-coupled applications or very short range air-coupled applications. The PGA460 operates at lower frequencies and is suited to longer range air-coupled applications. Additionally, the PGA460 has an integrated DSP block for further signal conditioning. Both the PGA460 and TDC1000 are slave devices that need to communicate with a microcontroller.

  • Thank you for the replying. My application is liquid-coupled, as medical ultrasound imaging device. The maximum frequency is 15 MHz or more, that we want to receive. And hope the pulser have Negative Impulse wave mode or sine pulsed wave mode. I will order TDC1000 to try. BTW it's there more alternative or TX-SDK-V1 and TX-SDK-V2 will have the opportunity to restart manufacturing.
  • Hi user4672467,

If you are looking for medical ultrasound applications, neither the TDC1000 nor the PGA460 will work. TI has a wide range of medical ultrasonic sensing devices, though I do not work in that group so I don't have more information about them. Here is the homepage for ultrasonic sensing on ti.com, which includes medical imaging devices. I've notified my colleagues in the medical imaging group, who should be able to help you further.

  • Hi Kristin Jones,

    Thanks for help.
I asked one more question at Ultrasonic sensing Forum.
I am not find any evaluation board I want at the homepage you told me.
    Thank you again.
  • Hi user4672467,

I am assuming you were able to find the ultrasonic sensing homepage on www.ti.com
I will close this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to open a new post.
