Compiler/ADS7843: ADS7843

Part Number: ADS7843

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Dear all,

          I have some questions about ADS7843 need to solve,description is as follows:

          I am using ADS7843 connecting four-wire resistive screen, When using interrupt configuration can be read by clicking on the touch screen to 7843 the transformed data, the data and click on the position is associated. But when I need to use the continuous conversion mode  (PD1 and PD0 are set to 1), no touch:  read the transformation of the data is basically equivalent to click on the touch screen center position when the returned value;  touch: the conversion data is location data.

         In continuous conversion mode,I want to know when not click on the touch screen,what is the Transform the data should be?

  • Miaomiao,

    We are looking into this and will get back with you soon.
  • Hi Miaomiao,

    Please see Figures 2 and 3 in the datasheet. Both of these figures are showing the set up for measuring the Y position. The Y+ and Y- drivers are turned on and X+ is connected to the +IN input of the ADC. When the touch screen is being touched there is a connection between the X and Y planes of the touchscreen. The voltage at the touch site on the Y plane is measured using the X input. If the screen is not touched X+ is not connected to the Y plane. The data returned will not be valid, because no touch has taken place and so a valid voltage is not present at the +IN input of the ADC.
