I'm looking for an alternative for the LM3914VX. LM3914 doesn't have I2C interface nor does the design of my device.

TI gives alternative (LP5012) which doesn't have analog input .
I wouldn't call this component an alternative, recommendation would be closer to truth.

Yes. I need analog input to control the output. Any real alternatives?

It seems that our new device always has the I2C interface without any analog input.

Can you please tell me why you need this analog input and if possible, please tell me your application?

Btw, for the analog input device, I found we have a 4-channel with EN pin to control the output, LP5524. Please help to look if it can suit your requirements.

And for some TLC family device, we also have some device with BLANK pin that can use analog input to control output on/off. Please also have a look on TLC59283 to check if it can meet your requirements.

Yes. Only I2C interface... not a real alternative.
And that is the reason why I'm asking these questions on this forum. =)
I'm maintaining an older product. It has only analog signals.

Texas Instr. website dont tell the LTB.  Could you confirm the LTB date for LM3914VX/NOPB?

USE of MCU:

Im trying to understand, why you suggest to me only systems that require MCU...
For me it is not possible to use MCU in the device because it would require re-registrations and years delay in sales.

LTB date:

Where can I ask LTB date if not here?

I have the same question. When we can expect the response form you guys.

I am currently in the process of designing a new tachometer product, and after evaluating several options, I found that the LM3914 is an excellent fit for my application. However, I noticed that the part appears to be listed as obsolete.

Could you kindly confirm the status of this component and advise whether there are any recommended alternatives that offer similar functionality? If the LM3914 is still available in limited quantities, information on sourcing would be greatly appreciated.

I confirmed that LTB is 6th Feb 2025.
The confirmation came thru other official ways.

Its unfortunate that all TI employees seems to be in China.

I would highly appreciate your effort to compare this component(LP5524) to LM3914VX.
Please read at least the description before offering the solution.

LM3914VX Description:
"Integrated circuit that senses analog voltage levels and drives 10 LEDs,"

LP5524 Description:
"LED driver that can drive up to four LED... LED driver current sources are split into two independently controlled banks."

Its not an alternative nor even close.
Please let me know what you think.

I appreciate your effort in suggesting a solution, but unfortunately, this chip does not meet my requirements. I need to control 40 LEDs, and this chip lacks a cascade feature. Additionally, I require an analog voltage-controlled IC that operates in bar graph mode.

I am sorry that like I said before, I think we don't have the next-gen of LM3914. I think TLC59212 or TLC59211 could be the suitable option for now.
