BQ76200: BQ76200 PMON_EN issue

Part Number: BQ76200

BQ76200 drive 3 pairs of MOS, if the PMON_EN enabled MOS drive is not, if the PMON_EN does not enable MOS drive has a high level.

The power consumption was checked, and the power consumption of enabled PMON_EN and unenabled PMON_EN were 320uA and 40uA respectively. At this point, the 75k and 1k resistors of the PACKDIV are removed.

  • Hi,

With the 3 pairs of FETs, have you increased the charge pump capacitor accordingly to handle the larger total FET capacitance? Section 6 of this document gives some helpful guidance on selecting this value: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva729a/slva729a.pdf

I am not sure why the PMON_EN would affect the ability to drive FETs directly. If the PACKDIV resistors are removed, PMON_EN should be kept low. It should only be enabled briefly when measuring the PACK voltage. However, it should not turn the FETs off, so I think you may have another issue on the FET drive.

    Best regards,

    Matt
