Hi team,

Customer now use LM25066A, due to shortage issue, they are consider move to LM25066.

While in LM25066A application, they didn't load any image to it; when switch to LM25066, do you they to load any image to it? Or the question is, is there any difference in software/register setting between LM25066A and LM25066?

Thanks for reaching out to us. Please could you elaborate what does "they didn't load any image to it" mean. I am unable to understand this. There are no differences in software/register setting between LM25066A and LM25066.

Hi Avishek,

Get it thanks. Since you mean their register is same between LM25066A and LM25066, is there any method to distinguish those two part by read back the register? Or they should do this by inspecting the top mask of those part?

I see both LM25066A and LM25066 MFR_MODEL share the same register value, could you help check if this is workable way?

Hi Will,

I also saw the same in the datasheets of LM25066 and LM25066A... But, datasheet of LM25066I shows different value in MFR ID-8 of MFR_MODEL (9Ah) resister. We need to distinguish through device marking code (LM25066: L25066P and LM25066A: L25066A) only before populating in PCB. However, may I know why this is important for the customer? Because, both LM25066 and LM25066A are exactly similar in functionality except current and power measurement accuracy.

Hi Avishek,

Does it possible to use EVM to and read back the MFR_MODEL data to confirm that LM25066 and LM25066A MFR_MODEL are exactly the same? It's strange why LM25066I get a different MFR ID while LM25066, LM25066 get the same.

Hi Will,

It is possible to check in EVM also. After powering up the EVM with 12 V input and establishing the communication between GUI and EVM, please click on the "Update ID Information". It should show.
