LM26420-Q1: SHORTING of OUTPUTS

Part Number: LM26420-Q1

Hi Everyone,

LM26420-Q1 has 2 voltage outputs.

I am planning to use the part with MPN: "LM26420Q1XMH/NOPB"

Pl. suggest me whether I can short 2 outputs, so as to cater the high load (which is >2A)?

If YES, any caution to be taken?

  • Hi User,

    Thank for your question.

I wouldn't advise to do that, especially for automotive qualified application. This configuration could work in nominal operation, but you would operate outside the device standard operation condition, thus we cannot assure anymore the datasheet specifications.

In particular, I would be worried by possible cross regulation problems.

I would advise you to look directly for an higher current device, depending on your current requirements.

    Thanks,

    Stefano
