TPS62150A: When the TPS62150 input voltage is lowered to about 6.5V, its IQ will suddenly increase to 9mA, compared with a normal IQ of about ten uA.Is this normal? How to solve it?

  • Hi Xiaofu,

What is your output voltage? When the Vin decreases to typically 15% above Vout, the TPS62150 device does not enter power save mode regardless of load current. The device maintains output regulation in PWM mode. So the Iq current will increase. Please check the switching node waveform to see if the device is working in PWM mode.

    Thanks,
