UCC28700-Q1: Unencrypted Spice model error while simulating in Simetrix

Hi,

This is Athieshkumar. I got an Unencrypted model for UCC28700 from the TI team. While simulating the spice model I am getting the below errors.

There are errors in the circuit. Simulation aborted

UCC28700.txt (50):

*** ERROR *** Instance 'X_U_TOP_U_SAMPLER_U62': wrong number of nodes in call to sub-circuit 'one_shot'

UCC28700.txt (489):

...

*** ERROR *** Instance 'X_U_TOP_U_MOD_UPCC_U62': wrong number of nodes in call to sub-circuit 'one_shot'

Also when I tried to change the code shown below (One_shot for two different values of T=330 or 200), the above error got resolved but a new error came.

Hello,

The error message indicates that simulator that you are using on allows X number of nodes and the unencrypted model exceeds that. I would suggest using the encrypted model because only the external pins count as nodes.

TI has both Tina and PSpice models available; as well as, Tina and PSpice simulator for free that you can down load form the TI web site. That is another option for you to simulate your circuit.

Hi Mike,

I only have access to Simetrix. As per our Customer, I need to simulate the model using Simetrix. If I am not wrong, the no of nodes are matching with subcircuit of One_shot, but still showing the error.

If possible can you forward it to any Spice Team to resolve this issue.

The same error has reported in the TI forum over 3 years ago, But I didn't find any solution in the reply. Below is the reference link of the error reported by Yan Zhou and replied by Nikhil Gupta

Hello,

The PSpice models released on the web were debugged using the tools the simulators they were designed for. We do give out the undecrypted models if an engineer would like to debug them in there own simulation. I do believe the issue lies in the number of acceptable nodes and believe that you can simulate the model using the free TI Pspice or Tina simulator.

It sound like Nikhil could not find a resolution to the issue either and did not follow up. He still works for Texas Instruments and may be worth reaching out to him as well to see if he has different recommendations than I do. You can reach out to him via the e2e and/or by email.
