LM61460-Q1: LM61460-Q1 ripple and noise

Part Number: LM61460-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM61460

Dear Expert ,

Good day!

Our customer need a power device which require the follow items:

input voltage: 15v up to 24v. from noisy sources, cheap power bricks...etc. OR from Meanwell power modules (180mV ripple).
output voltage: 12v (and can go down)
output current: +5 amps.
total ripple+noise at full load output: < 1 mV.

I had check our products , I found 10 device which can fulfill the first 3 requirements .Here is the link

https://www.ti.com/power-management/non-isolated-dc-dc-switching-regulators/step-down-buck/buck-converter-integrated-switch/products.html#p238min=1.5;15&p238max=24;36&p634min=-3;12&p634max=12;90&p451max=6;7.99&p212max=80.89171974522293;100

But for the  total ripple+noise at full load output: < 1 mV. I am not sure about it , I only find the LM61460-Q1 description it have the low-noise characters

1.Could you help me to confirm whether LM61460-Q1 can fulfill the requirements ?

2.what about the products in the list?

3. if the device need the ferrite bead filter , do you have any suggestion or reference design for it ?

BR,

Leon.liu

it is very difficult to achieve 1mV ripple+noise, even LM61460 is low noise dcdc converter, but the ripple current will generate ripple voltage at the output cap, the ripple votlage will eqaul to Iripple*(esr+1/8*fsc*Cout).

so I will suggest use LM61460 as first stage, then using L C filter with bead as second stage, if there is some high current ,low noise LDO,it can be choosed as second stage
