LM25575: PSI JC vs Theta JC

Part Number: LM25575

I am looking to get some more information about the thermal metrics on PN: LM25575

I found another component (LM63610) that has the same case (HTSSOP) and included some additional thermal metrics in the datasheet. Right now I am using these properties to extrapolate a PSI JC Value for the LM25575 component. I would appreciate any comment on the validity of this technique or some advice on reaching an approximate PSI JC.

Thank you for your time,

  • Hello Adam,

I believe the following App Reports will be very beneficial to you:

    1. SLUA844
    2. SPRA953

The way you are approaching right now would most likely give you an approximated value of what to expect but I would not recommend to follow those values. Both devices have different operating ranges and package dimensions.
I would recommend to place a thermocouple on the device and run thermal tests on a lab bench.

    Regards,
    Alejandro
