UCC28700: How to obtain Current-sense delay (TD) ?

Part Number: UCC28700

Team,

The UCC28700 datasheet provides a formula in section 8.3.1.5 page to calculate RCS and RLC.

Could you please provide more info on the TD parameter?
-Is it constant that can be found in the MOSFET datasheet? or is it a value to measure? Then how?
-Could you please share a concrete example on how it is obtain? For example share the calculation for one of the UCC28700 ref design we have?

Thanks in advance,

A.

  • Hi AnBer,

The current sense delay including  controller internal comparator delay ~15ns , CS pin Resistor + Capacitor delay , this is depends on what R and C you chose. and Mosfet turn off delay , ~50ns is a roughly start point .  generally ,you can't get a definitely correct Td time by calculation . but that is no problem , since you can adjust it when you get a real board . then you can debug and test it to get a correct value on your real board . so calculate is just get a  close start point . we have a calculator on TI.COM for UCC28700 , Link shown as below

    Thanks.
