Dear Expert ,

Good day！

Our customer use the TPS259827 with 3A Electromagnet , the device can not start up . Here is the shcematic 

I had told him to test the Vin /Vout  signal wave with load or without load , here is the result (Yellow line is Vin , Blue is Vout)

With load , can not start up

Without load , it works fine 

He also change the DVDT cap to 100nf , and found the signal wave is changed (with 3A load )

Could you help me to provide any suggestions about how to solve the problems.

    Hi Leon,

    Device is hitting thermal shutdown during startup. It is getting stressed such that temperature is going beyond Thermal Shutdown threshold. This is happening because 3A load is present during startup due to which device power dissipation has increased.  

    Can you tell more about electromagnet load? When does it start to draw current? It would be nice if they could also share the current through efuse when the load is applied during startup.

    To solve this issue we have to try with  decreasing the CDVDT cap value and see at what cap value startup is happening. Are they testing on EVM or their own board?
