TPS61178: max switching peak current?

Part Number: TPS61178

Hi team,

The datasheet states the programmable switch peak current is up to 10A.

However on page 12, there is an example case that the switch peak current limit is 15A with Rlim=50kohm.

I’m a bit confused with that.

Which one is correct? Also, what is the max switching peak current?

Hi Kurumi,

TPS61178 could be set with >10A current, but it is not recommended because of thermal consideration. And the current limit could not exceed 20A because it will trigger short protection.
