LM27762: "well regulate" power supply clarification

Part Number: LM27762

Team,

In the LM27762 datasheet, it says the component requires a well regulated power supply. this has confused a customer and they are looking for some clarity. can you quantify what "well regulated" means here

Please advise – will the LM27762 function with a typical unregulated battery voltage or something similar?

  • Hello Michael,

The statement in the datasheet meant that the power supply needs to provide an input voltage within the expected min/max values at the entire output current range to ensure a regulated output voltage. As shown in the sample application design below, the device can regulate an output voltage of +/-3 V with an input voltage of 3.3V to 4.2V. Therefore, a varying input voltage such as a battery should not be a concern.

You can post the customer application parameters so I can check if the LM27762 can support it. If the information is confidential, then you can send the information via TI email.

    Best regards,

    Excel

  • Hello Michael,

    Just a soft reminder.
Is there any item that needs clarification?
