LM46001-Q1: looking for a bipolar dc-dc buck converter

Hi,

i was looking for a 18v-36v dc input to +-15v dc 1A output buck converter.

i came across the device LM46001-Q1 which has a reference design for inverting output -15v.

is there a reference design for non inverting 15v dc output ?

also there is no stock and A series has been discontinued. is this product suitable for new design ?

is there any better device for my application ?

    The LM46001-Q1 is a step-down converter which can be configured as an inverting-buck-boost (IBB) for negative outputs (that's where the negative reference design document applies). The datasheet provides a Application and Implementations section which provides a follow procedure that can be used to select the appropriate components.

    Note, when configuring a buck converter to IBB, max output current ratings will be affected depending on conditions.

    Can you clarify the following: Will 1-A be required for -15V output? What is your Iout requirements? That way I can recommend a device which might also work with your application.

    The LM46002-Q1 can meet the following requirements, not the LM46001-Q1 (due to the impact of topology modification). I can also recommend the following Module for the negative rail: LMZ34002.

    As mentioned previously, the LM46002-Q1 can meet those requirements for positive rail as well. The datasheet provides a section which shares a detailed procedure to select the appropriate component/values. If a module (integrated FETs and inductor)  is your interest, then I can recommend the following: TPSM5601R5H or LMZM23601 or LMZ14201H.
