Hi team,
could you help to confirm if there's risk for the application: VIN=12V; VOUT=0.72V; IOUT>=30A?
Besides, the recommended electrical rating is given based on what kind of consideration?

Hello,
When assessing the risks of a particular design with the TPS543C20, I would defer to the safe operating area charts available in section 11.3 of the datasheet. With regards to your application of PVIN=12V, Vout=0.72V, Iout>=30A, the TPS543C20 can support this operation across most conditions. Pictured below is the safe operating area graph for a 12Vin, 1Vout, 500kHz design. This curve demonstrates that the device can be safely operated at full load and Temperatures of 70C with no air-flow. The curve will shift down for the 0.72Vout condition, but if your ambient temperature is well-regulated around 25C-40C and/or air flow is provided, then I expect your application will not violate the safe-operating area of the part.
In order to more fully assess any design risks, it would also help to look at section 7.4 in the datasheet:
We can use the estimated power dissipation of your design and multiply by the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance. This will provide the temperature rise of the die. Adding the temperature rise to the ambient temperature will provide us a good estimation of the die temperature. The datasheet recommends that we keep the junction temperature below 150C. If your design/environment satisfies that requirement, then the design is safe to implement.
