TPS562202S: SW pin state when EN = low

Part Number: TPS562202S

Figure 9-11 in the datasheet shows Vout sinking very quickly after Enable is pulled low; is the low side FET on or off when enable is low?

The datasheet indicates the part won't be damaged if the SW pin voltage is greater than Vin; will there be significant current flow through the device if  SW is greater than Vin and En is low?

  • Hi

Edwin will help on this issue soon.

    Best regards

    Lucia

  • Hi,

when EN is pulled low, both high side and low side turn off.

firstly, yes, there be significant current flow through the device if  SW is greater than Vin and En is low. because the current goes through  high side bode diode.

where do you see the part won't be damaged if the SW pin voltage is greater than Vin?

    BRs,

    Edwin.

  • Thank you for the response.

The absolute maximum for the SW pin is specified with a number.  If it must also be no greater than Vin, it ought to list the additional constraint.  Some regulators include a diode or back to back FETs to block the current and facilitate operation on rails with multiple power sources.
