LM74202-Q1: Output Short Circuit to GND

Hi,

In LM74202-Q1, when output is short circuit to GND, at what junction temperature the device will be turned off? Is it  at T(TSD)?

Since operating junction temperature max. is 150 °C and T(TSD) is 157 °C, I felt confused.

    Hi Sneha,

    Thanks for reaching out!

    The device shuts down when the junction temperature reaches TSD level i.e., 157C but it is transient event. The average junction temperature will be much lower than the 150C because the device retries after retry delay (tretry= Retry Delay in TSD) of 540ms which helps to bring down the average operating junction temperature < 150 °C
