Hi,

want to know any pin compatible ICs which i can use to replace in place of BQ24780S other than BQ24800.

functionality intact.

Can i use BQ24773(NVDS) with Hybrid topology connection in place of BQ24780?

also please suggest other cost effective ICs (similar to BQ24780S cost) with functionality same as BQ24780S, with any pin structure.

Hi Kavitha,

You can use the BQ24780S and the BQ24800 as pin-to-pin compatible devices. However, there are many differences between the BQ24773 and the BQ24780S, so these devices cannot be used interchangeably. The most fundamental difference is that the BQ24773 uses an NVDC architecture, so VSYS is stepped down by the buck converter first. On the other hand, the BQ24780S uses a hybrid boost architecture, so VSYS is approximately equal to the adapter voltage. The article below explains these architectures in more detail:

If you're looking for other hybrid boost chargers, you can also consider the BQ24735, but the pinout is different from the BQ24780S.
