BQ76940: Dear ALL,

Part Number: BQ76940
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76952

Any TI AFE , which is having more than one Regout voltage?

Same is help full for driving LDO in BMS.

Similar feature is available in Other AFE , which helps to drive LDO further and which in Turn minimizes the Board Size and cost as well.

Also any AFE which is having Reg out with higher Load driving capacity?(Currently Bq is having 20mA Load capacity., which prooves to be very small.)

Rohit

  • Hi Rohit,

The BQ76952 has two LDO outputs.

    Best regards,

    Matt

  • Ok,

Does it have both Charge and Discharge Detect from Shut down mode?

I mean Can AFE wake up from Full Shut down Mode if any of Dishcarge or Charge is attempted?

Also What will be the Status of AFE CHG & DSG Drives when Shut down mode is Activated? Will it be High or Low?

If High Than only it will be able to detect either of the Activity either Charge or Discharge ?

    So please provide your comments...

I saw Pin out for Bq76952, is having "Pack " & "LD" pins, please share if those pins can be used for AFE wake up from Shut Down Mode, provided Both Drives are ON i believe.

  • Hi Rohit,

The BQ76952 has multiple different power modes (SLEEP, DEEPSLEEP, SHUTDOWN) that are described in detail in Chapter 7 of the BQ76952 Technical Reference Manual. SHUTDOWN is the lowest power state - the FETs and the LDOs are disabled in SHUTDOWN mode. The device can exit Shutdown mode with a boot signal to the TS2 pin or if a charger is attached (sense at LD pin).

DEEPSLEEP will also have the FETs disabled, but the LDOs can remain enabled. This is entered and exited using commands.

SLEEP mode leaves the FETs enabled and the device will come out of sleep mode based on current thresholds that you select.

    Best regards,

    Matt
