LM5176-Q1: what's the efficiency during light load? since it doesn't have DCM

Hi, team

LM5176-Q1 only have CCM and hiccup mode, and customer want DCM mode to improve efficiency during light load.

Do you recommend switch to LM5175-Q1? or is there any strategy to improve light load efficiency in LM5176-Q1?

Hello Mona,

LM5175-Q1 can support almost the same power as LM5176-Q1. I say almost because the current limit in buck-boost mode is somewhat lower, but this can be overcome with a slightly lower sense resistor.

And yes, 300W can be delivered with the right external transistors. I would then recommend 2 transistors for each of the 4 positions.
